FlavoredLayers is a community driven company that has been on a twenty year journey learning how to deliver value to emerging artists and musicians, urban farming projects and community initiatives.
We love Utica, NY and the Mohawk Valley. Having visited Utica for over 30 years, we were drawn to the accelerating artist, urban ag scene and the need for focused community initiatives.
As part of our next chapter in Utica, we are focused on building platforms that will showcase emerging artists and musicians, create an urban farm that will act as a model for the incubation of other urban farms throughout Utica, continued local sponsorship, community collaboration and volunteerism, while contributing to existing efforts of attracting regional, national and global tourism to our wonderful community.
David Gutierrez
Co-Founder, Chief Creative Officer
David Gutierrez is a lifelong entrepreneur and Co-Founder/Chief Creative Officer of FlavoredLayers LLC, where he leads innovative projects at the intersection of agriculture, art, and community. As founder of FlavoredLayers Farms in Valley Center, CA, he is now bringing a Certified Organic, urban hydroponic container farm to Utica as part of the FlavoredLayers’ ArtBlok vision. Gutierrez also serves as President of Have A Happy Stay, LLC, overseeing property management and hospitality projects. David is a graduate of the Archi’s Institute Cal Poly program for Sustainable Agriculture and is a serial collaborator and community volunteer.

Tara J. Agen is an Artist, President of FlavoredLayers LLC, and retired HP Inc executive with 30+ years of experience in marketing, global ad agency strategy, category creation, and business transformation. A lifelong learner, innovator, and patent holder, Agen brings creative curiosity and strategic vision to every stage of her journey. She is also pursuing a lifelong dream studying fine art at Pratt Institute to explore the intersection of art, design, and technology.
